Room With A View

A chance to add more space for living & entertaining to your home

Conservatory Swindon
The addition of a conservatory to your home will not only will improve the value of your house, but can bring you closer to nature than windows or doors ever can.

Your home life will be instantly improved, as you will have so much more space and options when it comes to relaxing or entertaining guests. But with every home improvement and investment, it pays to plan properly and to do your homework before making any decisions.

Location

If there's one thing you don't want to be doing in your new conservatory it is one minute sitting stripped-off and roasting, and then the next minute hastily grabbing your duffle coat because the sun has gone in.

Swindon is hardly the sun trap of the south, so factors such as a south-facing conservatory that will tend to gain more heat and retain it longer than an east or west facing conservatory, and that a north facing conservatory will naturally be cooler, possibly too cold for everyday use in winter without heating, should be always be considered.

As a general rule:

South facing - gets the sun all year round, making the most of winter sun but needing ventilation in summer.

West facing - gives good sunlight on summer afternoons and evenings. The indirect light in summer is great for plants.

East facing - catches the early morning sun making it ideal as breakfast room.

North facing - needs heating in winter yet warm and bright in summer month.

But, as with every conservatory company that knows its business, proper impartial advice about where you locate your conservatory to take in these factors should all be part of the package.

uPVC or Hardwood:

uPVC is the most common material for building your conservatory because it is relatively inexpensive, guaranteed for long periods, easy to maintain and durable. Hardwood, in contrast, can look far better to the eye, but it can be difficult to keep it looking like new over time.
